Ensembl Workshop
This one-and-a-half-day workshop offers participants the possibility of gaining lots of hands-on experience in the use of the Ensembl genome browser but also provides them with the necessary background information. The workshop is primarily targeted at wetlab researchers.

Guilietta Spudich of the European Bioinformatics Institute will give this workshop.

The Ensembl project (see at: www.ensembl.org) provides a comprehensive and integrated source of annotation of, mainly vertebrate, genome sequences.

Most modules consist of a presentation, followed by the opportunity to do exercises. Participants are encouraged to bring problems/questions about their research to try to tackle these during the workshop using Ensembl.

This workshop is open to all participants of Molmed, Erasmus MC and MGC, and is free of charge. Participants who are not from these research institutes can also participate for a small fee.
Participation is limited to 24 participants due to the nature of the workshop.

The only prerequisite for this workshop is general knowledge of molecular biology / genomics and a familiarity with web browsers.

Registration fee
The registration fee for this course is € 125,00. However, it is free of charge (100 % discount) for members of the Erasmus MC and the MGC Research School.
