This is a two-days course on statistics for MDs, with the second day solely about Survival Analysis, This course will be held on two evenings with dinner beforehand: Tuesday 28 September and Monday 4 October. The dinner is included in the course registration. If you register, please let us know if you will be present for the dinner as well.

Audience
This course is meant for MDs and will give a well-considered introduction in some main concepts of modern statistics and how they can and should be applied in clinical research. However, the course is open for all who are interested, including for research-MSc students and PhD students.

Program
part I: Introduction on concepts of medical statistics

• Descriptive statistics
• P-values
• Confidence intervals
• Correlation analysis & linear regression

Program
part II: Introduction to survival analysis

• Survival time & censoring
• Descriptive methods for survival analysis
• Kaplan Meier analysis
• Incidence curves
• Comparison of treatments with survival curves
• Proportional hazard assumption
• Cox regression models
• More complicated topics, such as truncation, competing risks etc.

Time schedule
