In 2014 the Daniel Den Hoed Cancer Center, one of the main cancer research and oncological care centers in The Netherlands and now part of the Erasmus MC Cancer Institute, will celebrate his 100th anniversary. In celebration of this occasion, an international symposium entitled Cancer Research and Clinical Care: The Next 100 Years will be held on Oct. 28 and 29, 2014, in Rotterdam.

Aim and audience

The symposium will gather top notch specialists from around the world involved in the research and treatment of cancer to foster a multi-disciplinary discussion. To this aim, twelve lectures centered around 3 main themes, namely Plasticity of the Cancer Cell, Integrated Cancer Omics, and Personalized Cancer Medicine, will be delivered by prominent scientists with the goal of educating an audience, but also to outline current level of knowledge, and to act as a baseline to stimulate discussion on the future of cancer research and of evidence-based clinical care.
