Timothy J. Ley is recipient of the Erasmus Hematology Award 2015.

He will give an award lecture, titled: ‘The AML genome(s)’

Timothy Ley and his team were the first to sequence a whole cancer genome in man.

The official ceremony and the award lecture will take place at De Doelen, Jurriaanse Kwartier, Kruisplein 30, 3012 CC Rotterdam on Thursday March 19, 2015 from 4:00-5:00 pm.

Dr. Ley will be the guest of the Department of Hematology at Erasmus University Medical Center.

About the Erasmus Hematology Award
The Erasmus Hematology Award has been established to honor a distinguished scientist who has made pivotal contributions to our understanding in an area of hematology. Timothy J. Ley is a leader in science on the molecular biology of cancer. He has pioneered high throughput genome analysis in the field of leukemia and made fundamental discoveries in the molecular basis of leukemia, which are of paramount importance for our understanding of cancer development.
