Workshop on Microsoft Access 2016: Advanced

Description
The Erasmus Postgraduate School Molecular Medicine has two main activities: the organization of education for postgraduate students; and the stimulation of cooperation between several departments with regards to translational research.

Trajectory of four workshops
Together with Access It Training we organize four workshops on: Access (basic and advanced) and on Excel (basic and advance).

These workshops follow each other in evolutionary fashion:

  • With Microsoft Access you will to set up and manage a database.
  • With Microsoft Excel you will learn to use this database for functions and formulas.
Course Objective: You will design and create a new Access database; improve queries, create advanced forms, and reports; and integrate Access 2016 with other applications.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Control data entry by modifying the design of a table to streamline data entry and maintain data integrity.
  • Find and retrieve desired data by using filters and joins between tables and within a single table.
  • Create flexible queries to display specified records; allow for user-determined query criteria; and add, update, and delete data with queries.
  • Enhance the appearance, data entry, and data access capabilities of your forms.
  • customize reports to better organize the displayed information
  • export specific data to Excel or other applications like SPSS, etc.

Audience and participation
The advanced course is for the individual whose responsibilities include creating new databases, tables, and relationships, as well as working with and revising advanced-level queries, forms, and reports.
