8th Translational Imaging Workshop by AMIE: From mouse to man Tuesday 11, Wednesday 12, Thursday 13 , and Friday 14 November 2014
The programme Applied Molecular Imaging at Erasmus MC (AMIE) provides a platform for scientists interested in imaging technology and molecular imaging in general.
Aim of this Workshop The aim of this 4-day workshop is to give a broad introduction into preclinical and translational Molecular Imaging techniques and their applications in biology and medicine. This workshop is being organized for the 8th time, following upon seven very successful workshop from 2008 to 2013.
Audience This workshop is designed for PhD students and researchers in one of the Erasmus Postgraduate Schools; PhD students and researchers from other universities are also welcome. The total number of participants in the course is limited to 70; the total number of participants in the demonstrations and lab visits is limited to 40. Both are based on 'First comee, first serve'. Tuition is €550; however, most non-commercial participants are expected to qualify for a (partial) scholarship. See the program for all details.
Program Several applications in translational research will be discussed, such as multi-modality detection, imaging of cancer, and imaging of vascular diseases. In addition to the lectures presented in the programme, practical demonstrations on the different imaging devices will be given at the AMIE Facility, designed to facilitate multi-modal animal imaging. SPECT/CT (U-SPECT/CT, NanoSPECT/CT), PET (Inveon), CT (Skyscan), optical (ICIS), and MRI (7T GE/Varian) imaging equipment are housed in a single complex.
ECTS The workshop counts for 1,4 ECTS credit points, including all lab visits and self-study.
Organizing committee Marion de Jong, dept. of Nuclear Medicine Monique Bernsen, dept. of Radiology Jeroen Essers, dept. of Cell Biology & Genetics & Radiotherapy Joost Haeck, dept. of Radiology Klazina Kooiman, dept. of Cardiology Frank van Vliet, Managing Director, Erasmus Postgraduate School Molecular Medicine
