Registration for the Personal Leadership & Communication Workshop for PhD-students and Post Docs
A two-day practical Training Course, including homework in between

Please indicate in the remarks box at the bottom your specific expectations for this course.

This two-days training course focuses on different aspects of research management such as: time management, project management, negotiating, and yearly reviews. (see attached program for more details on these topics.)

This is an intensive two days course, with a strong focus on practical exercises; you will learn by carrying out assignments and applying the experience you have acquired to your own work situation. Small homework assignments will be set during the course.
You are required to attend all parts of the programme!

The training course will be given by Rosemarie Smit.

The course is given in room Ae 3.21.

Priority rules for attending (important)

We give priority to participants from MolMed or from MGC who are from the Erasmus MC. Other participants will be placed under the condition that there is enough place. When we get more participants on the waiting list, the course will be repeated on a short term.

There is place for 12 participants.

Full participation in this course is 1,0 ECTS

Attendance fees
The registration fee of non-commercial participants for the course is € 400,00.
All participants from MolMed receive a discount of 50 % and need to pay € 200.

MolMed fees for Photoshop, Indesign and Research management course (change in regulations!)
Per November 2014 the course Personal Leadership and Communication and the Workshops on the Adobe programs Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are no longer free for MolMed-members.
Due to the high costs of these courses (expensive, external teachers etc.) and because of the fact that these topics are not considered essential elements of the scientific PhD-track, the board of the school has decided to no longer offer these courses for free to MolMed-members.
The fee for these courses can be paid for example from your Erasmus MC ‘Persoonlijk Budget’, in which case you will need an invoice on your own name. The ‘Persoonlijk Budget’ is meant for this kind of courses. The invoice for these courses can also be paid by your PI, by yourself or from the budget of the project you work under (in that case, provide your 'kostenplaats' no.).
This exception only applies to these courses. All other courses are still free for MolMed-members.

MGC registration fee
Members from the research school MGC will also need to pay for this course themselves. This can be done via 'Persoonlijk Budget'. But MGC does not pay for your participation in this workshop.

The fees are for all the days of the Course. There is no discount for partial participation. Our cancellation policy is that cancellation is possible up to one week before the start of the Course. Later cancellation will not be accepted, but you are allowed to send a substitute.

Important! Fine System when absent
The board and the educational committee of the MolMed School have decided about a new system of fines when a participant fails to show up for a course. This Fine System will only be for expensive courses with limited places and given by an external, expensive teacher.

New Fine System: Regulations
If a participant does not show up for a course without notifying at least one week before the course starts that he or she cannot come, the school will fine him or her for the full price of the course as stated in the program. A substitute from the same target group will always be admitted, in which case no fine will be imposed.
This fine will not be imposed in case of circumstances beyond one’s control. In a debate about this, the opinion of the Managing Director of the MolMed School will be decisive

General information

Financial regulation of the Postgraduate School MolMed

From January 1st, 2017 the following financial rules apply, but they may differ per course still. Look at the course fee of each course to be sure which discounts are really applied:

Non-commercial course, symposium or workshop fee: €200/day, €750/week

• Participants of the postgraduate school MolMed: discount of 100%

• However, the Research Management course and the workshops Photoshop/Illustrator/Indesign have to be paid from the ‘personal budget’ of employees, MolMed members and PhD students included. So they will receive an invoice from us which you have to pay and which will be reimbursed by your Department. When you will pay from your personal budget you need to provide us your home address details for the invoice

• PhD students and Master’s students, regardless of institution: discount of 50%.

  • The course fees of research master’s students will be paid by their master program at rate of €100/ECTS. For not I&I master students: please inform your master program in advance whether they agree to pay.
  • Master’s students who are paying the fee from their private budget: discount of 75%. When you will pay from your personal budget you need to provide us your home address details for the invoice.
  • However, 2 courses in statistics are paid centrally by the Dept. of Research policy for all PhD students from Erasmus MC! These are R and the SPSS course. So for Erasmus MC PhD students, these courses are always free, provided you are officially registered as a PhD student.

There is one fee for the entire course. There is no reduction for partial participation.

Some courses have less course days: SPSS 3 days, Survival Analysis 2 days, Management 2 days, Presenting 1,5 days and also other may be shorter as indicated on the website.

Commercial participants, companies & sponsors are invited to inquire about commercial tuition fees and about sponsoring.

All invoices will be sent by email to the mail address that you filled in upon registration. If this address is not correct we use your Erasmus MC address.

Those who register for a course, symposium or workshop agree with these financial conditions.
