This course is fully booked and will be repeated again in November. Registration for that course is now open.

This one-and-a-half-day workshop offers participants the possibility of gaining lots of hands-on experience in the use of the Ensembl genome browser but also provides them with the necessary background information. The workshop is primarily targeted at wetlab researchers.

Dr. Bert Overduin of the European Bioinformatics Institute will give this workshop.

The Ensembl project (see at: http://www.ensembl.org) provides a comprehensive and integrated source of annotation of, mainly vertebrate, genome sequences.

Most modules consist of a presentation, followed by the opportunity to do exercises. Participants are encouraged to bring problems/questions about their research to try to tackle these during the workshop using Ensembl.

This workshop is open to all participants of Molmed, Erasmus MC and MGC, and is free of charge. Participation is limited to 30 participants due to the nature of the workshop. This course is fully booked. Next course in November is still open.

The only prerequisite for this workshop is general knowledge of molecular biology / genomics and a familiarity with web browsers.

For more information, contact Frank van Vliet, managing Director of the school, at: f.vanvliet@erasmusmc.nl, or tel. +31 (0)10 408 75 18, GSM +31 (0)6 5474 64 08.

This course is fully booked and will be repeated again in November. Registration for that course is now open.
